Hi guys, I was thinking of buying these headphones but I won't be able to try them first:

Has anyone here had any experience with these headphones? How is the sound quality, comfort and noise isolation?

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

What kind of music do you listen to and where/how do you plan to listen to the headphones?

I listen to everything from classical to metal and want to use these as portable headphones that I can listen to on the bus as well as at home, which is why I need good noise isolation and comfort

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

As far as I can tell they are pretty good headphones. The only downside I can see is that they have no way to fold, but they look small enough to where shouldn't be too much of a problem. I think there are some better options for less, but sadly your pricing is much higher on headphones than here in the US.

They do fold! They're portable headphones!

By the way I don't actually live in the UK, the UK website was just the first one that popped up when I searched for these headphones.

Can I ask how much you're able to get the Sony's for then?

I need to know how good they isolate though

They look like they're on-ear as opposed to over ear, so unless they have a decent clamping force I don't think they'll isolate as much as over-ear which pretty much block all noise out. I know the Sennheiser HD25IIs isolate really well for being on ear, but they have a strong clamping force.

I own a MDR-10R (not RC).

Not the best extension but it's got a somewhat boomy lower end and a slightly peaky higher end on some songs; bassy male vocals seem slightly recessed depending on the song but overall they're not bad if you're into the slightly laid-back sort of thing. I don't listen to metal (or classical too much) but post rock was alright on these, but definitely not the best instrumental separation... if you're wearing these on public transportation I'd imagine you wouldn't be able to hear too much of the faults of the headphone over everything, though. If you can find them for like $100 or less (or the eq. where you live... since you're not in the UK) I'd say go for it if you want something you can use on the go and take calls and stuff, because I feel like they're not really worth the $150 MSRP. Otherwise go for a Logitech UE6000 instead if you don't mind a heavier pair (due to noise cancelling gadgetry that you're not forced into using if you don't want) but can fold itself. They go for around $100 on Amazon here in the US, hopefully similar where you live as well.

They don't fold (maybe the RC folds but the regular R doesn't; don't know what the difference is so I'm assuming they're the same headphones for the most part?). You can rotate the cups so they're flat and slip them into a bag and stuff pretty easily, though.

They're just over my ears with decent clamping force, but I usually wouldn't notice them being painful or anything until a couple hours into a session.

I'm talking about the RC :)

So what headphones would you recommend in place of them that aren't bulky but also aren't overly skimpy on build quality like most portable headphones and also block out lots of external noise?

Have you tried turning it off and on again?
