I'm using a ryzen 5 5600x and haven't decided on AIO yet. I bought a Lian Li Lancool II Mesh and only supports 280 top mount. I was wanting a 360 aio mount but from this video

https://youtu.be/BbGomv195sk?t=1513  gamer nexus, everyone says oh front mount is fine as long as the radiator tube is above the cpu pump, but i link a time stamp which shows not to do that. I'm not sure if he means to rotate the tubing on the cpu so it faces a different direction or if that's wrong in general.

I'm spending over $1,600 on a PC and want to make sure I invest in the best way possible to ensure my PC runs at it's best.

So many say just put a radiator 360 in front, it doesn't matter as long as the tubes are above the cpu, then others say oh a 280 cpu mounted at the top will work fine, it's only a 5600x.

What do you think? Any bench marks to show 280 vs 360 cooling and if anyone can confirm front mount radiator is just fine and gamer nexus is confusing the shit out of me and everyone I ask.

5600x could run with stock cooler or cheap 30$ cooler so 280mm will be plenty on the top.

I Use my knowledge as business owner and self taught technician aswell as an AI to help people. AI might be controversial but it actually works pretty well 90% of the time.

So what about the front mount 360 aio's? the video i link, pause it when he shows that's not how it's suppose to go, tons of people tell me if the tubes on radiator are above the cpu it's fine but I hear many different answers. I don't mind paying lil extra for a 360, 1 less fan for me to get but don't want to do it if it will kill my aio lifespan, I also run my PC 24 hours a day, I could probably make it go to sleep mode once I make my new PC an after I go to bed.

You have it wrong. The Lancool 2 Mesh can fit a 240mm rad on the top, and can fit a 240/280/360mm rad in the front of the case.
as per the GN video, it's fine to front mount tubes up, as long as the top of the rad is above the cpu pump. However, once water evaporates out of the cooler (which will take years) you may hear the water churning and gurgling.

P.S. Steve also mentions in the GN Lancool 2 Mesh review that he doesn't recommend installing anything more than a 280mm in the case. Recommend watching his case review if you haven't yet. A 360mm AIO is WAY overkill for a 5600x you won't notice a huge difference in temp/performance between a 240mm with a 360mm on a 5600x. Unless they are very similar in price due to a sale or something, I wouldn't go past a 280mm. Best price/performance ratio.

The stock AMD air cooler that came with my 3600 was pretty trash.  Loud, and cooled even worse than I expected.

But at the same time, going all the way to a 360mm AIO is wayyy overkill.  My 3600 (same TDP) is running like ICE on a cheap 240mm radiator (Cooler Master ML240L, an Amazon exclusive I think for $70) and honestly runs way colder than realistically needed.

Remember that the bigger and more expensive coolers are geared towards the higher end Ryzen 7 and 9 cpu's, which can pull nearly twice the power under peak use compared to a 5600.  I suspect that there would actually be no additional cooling going from a 240 to 360mm radiator for a 5600x.

If you want a 360mm radiator because it looks nice in your case, go for it.  But pretty much any cpu cooler with good reviews will cool a Ryzen x600 extremely well.

For reference, the Cooler Master ML240L I have idles my ryzen 5 at 33*, games run at 40-55* depending on game.  Prime 95 can get it to 80*, but that's just the way I have the fan curve set.  Steady gaming temps in the 70's are more than acceptable; sub 50 is amazing.  80* is not a problem, and prime95 is a crazy torture test anyways.

TL;DR - a 360mm rad on a ryzen 5 is massive overkill, as is pretty much ANY cooler over $75.
