Samsung Micro SD Cannot be Read

Hey, trying to see what's on my old Samsung's micro-SD card and it can't seem to be read or reformatted at all. I have an SD Card adapter, plugging it into my computer it requests a disk to be inserted and doesn't seem to be able to read anything there for it to be reformatted. Plugging it into a DSLR camera warrants the same issue it doesn't recognize anything there. In the comp it shows up as something plugged into it but nothing actually there. I used that phone until it no longer turned on or charged, is there any possible way to salvage what's on it or is it lost for good?

Does your adapter have one of those little physical lock switches on the side? If so, are you sure it's in the unlocked position? I ask only because I've spent probably thirty minutes troubleshooting the exact same problem, only to then realize my mistake.

Yeah it sucks because no matter which way it's flipped it's not reading it...unless I somehow messed up the locking mechanism but it was never a problem or issue when reading the gopro micro sd card.

Is this something worth taking to like a camera or phone fixing place for?
