Fan problem

Ok so I built a new pc a few months ago. I didn’t much about pcs so I bought a case with 3 pre installed rgb fans at the front and none at the back. So my dad picked up this case fan from work and it does not fit and if I’m doing something or I need a specific fan please let me know. Thanks.

Is this a fan extension cable or something like this?

Looks like maybe you are plugging in the fan the wrong way?
