SD Card corrupted into RAW

Go to solution Solved by E.Beadle,

The issue with most SD card readers failing is the card reader itself Source: Matt Kloskowski of Kelby Media Group on The Grid

Edit:
Yes You will more than likely need a new SD card... To recover from an SD card, I would advise going to a professional photography Shop that offers recovery as a service.
It's going to be not fun getting the photos off. If it is still possible. Sandisk is a good company to go through to do so. I use them personally for myself and I use nothing but their cards or Lexars.

Hello, so I was away for a day, and when I was walking through mall with my phone in my jeans pocket as usual, I noticed it started vibrating. I checked and it was restarting. After I turned it off and on to stop restarting I saw it say SD Card corrupted. I came home, and noticed that the SD Card is in RAW format and PC doesn't read it, phone doesn't even see that a SD Card is inserted. So I have tried numerous options. I tried doing chkdsk but it wasn't for RAW. I tried these programs: TestDisk PhotoRec, iCare Data Recovery, Zero Assumption Recovery and CardRecovery. None of them work, all of them are stuck at gathering System Information (they are fast when the SD Card is disconnected). So am I completely screwed? Need a new SD Card? I really would like to recover my photos. At least now I'm going to use Cloud for backing up...

This is how the SD Card is shown for me, I can't open it.

Alright, I'll try. I managed to get PhotoRec working, but it shows me this:

EDIT: I noticed that it's formatting the drive @NameTaken. I want to recover the photos. If I'm going to format it I'm pretty sure I won't get a Kingston SD again, since it might break again.

Try using testdisk!

http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk

The tutorials on there are great.  I recovered like 200GB of corrupted files using it :D

Linux "nerd".  If I helped you please like my post and maybe add me as a friend :)  ^_^!

I said I already used it. Doesn't work.

That's odd :/  It worked for me when I changed a drive from mbr to gpt and turned everything raw

Well I won't bother paying to get my photos, since most of them aren't that important. So I'm going to pick up a new SD Card tomorrow.

Tell me which is better:

SAMSUNG 16GB microSDHC Class 10 UHS-1 MB-MPAGC/ EU for 10€ (Yes, everything's more expensive in Latvia, and no, I don't wanna wait 2 months from eBay)

SANDISK 16GB microSDHC Class Ultra 10 SDSDQU-016G-U46A for 15€
