Went to AMD's website to make sure the drivers on my 5700 (not 5700 XT) were the newest since I'd heard they came up with a new version for Cyberpunk 2077. Selected the download for my standard 5700, and began running the file to install them.

During the installation however the screen went black, and then lost input, and then never came back on. Thought maybe it was still installing, but a half hour later no change so I restarted the system. Then I disconnected the graphics card to try getting video output from the motherboard, but there's no signal recieved by the monitor at all. After plugging the hdmi into the motherboards output it doesn't even wake up the screen when restarting the computer anymore.

Would very much appreciate any help.

Just to confirm, you're running a CPU that has integrated graphics, correct? Are you able to get into the BIOS or safe mode (hold F8 on boot)?

Main PC:

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X • Noctua NH-D15 • MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk • 2x8GB G.skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz CL16 • MSI VENTUS 3X GeForce RTX 3070 OC • Samsung 970 Evo 1TB • Samsung 860 Evo 1TB • Cosair iCUE 465X RGB • Corsair RMx 750W (White)

Peripherals/Other:

ASUS VG27AQ • G PRO K/DA • G502 Hero K/DA • G733 K/DA • G840 K/DA • Oculus Quest 2 • Nintendo Switch (Rev. 2)

Laptop (Dell XPS 13):

Intel Core i7-1195G7 • Intel Iris Xe Graphics • 16GB LPDDR4x 4267MHz • 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD • 13.4" OLED 3.5K InfinityEdge Display (3456x2160, 400nit, touch).

Got any questions about my system or peripherals? Feel free to tag me (@bellabichon) and I'll be happy to give you my two cents.

Ah shit good call. I upgraded from an older intel card to a Ryzen 5 3600X last december and hadn't had to mess with anything since it was able to boot the system from the same ssd once the driver disc did its work. Seems that's out of the question then

Unfortunately, with no graphics, you won't even be able to get into the BIOS. My next move would be to use the regular support channels to contact AMD.

Sent in a ticket, but find it questionable how much support they can actually offer. Honestly think I'll just swing by Microcenter as soon as it opens to pick up a new AMD mobo that has on-board integrated graphics, just in case something like this happens again
