AsRock Base Frequency Boost Question

I'm considering a new build and as much as I'd love to go AMD, it's way too expensive right now. Intel isn't cheap either but every so often, I see people say to get the Core i5 10400 as it's really underrated for the price. So I decided to take a look into that and then I came across the AsRock Base Frequency Boost. If I'm understanding this correctly, I can pair the Core i5 10400 and an AsRock motherboard, enable BFB, and my CPU can potentially run at 4GHz under heavy load provided the temperatures are under control? And with the sales right now, this combo would cost me about $400? Am I missing something here?

This isnt something new (i.e. exists way before BFB), you could always get a better built (but not too expensive of course) non Z chipset board and blast the power limit out the window in order to achieve Intel's all core turbo which cant be sustained within factory TDP limits. For gaming a Z chipset board for higher memory frequency capability is still recommended tho

It's just slower (for computing, that is) than say, an R5 3600 because despite running at similar frequencies, Intel's IPC is worse.
