CPU has no power

jake765111

Hello everyone. I have a board that the CPU seems to be dead on. I took the cooler off and I can’t feel any heat coming off of it at all. I did test the output from the power supply and it was around 12.2 V. What should I do. Is this a dead CPU problem?

Did I fix your problem? Please feel free to donate to me at <Link Removed>

Any donation is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Dumb question, but is your 4/8 pin CPU power plugged in?

Yes. That is where I tested the voltage. It’s a 6 pin

There is no such thing as a 6-pin CPU power.

You are using the wrong cable.

Ragnarok is correct. You have an 8 pin CPU power, or 4+4 depending on your PSU.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

yep. thats a sata expansion port. My B360 gaming plus has an 8pin and a 6pin, the 6pin is for a cable that has a bunch of sata power outputs and the 8pin is for the CPU. they are labeled.
