how to Installing my cooler on b550 tomahawk?
Asez23 replied to Devel0per95's topic in Troubleshooting
there should be a cable with four(4) tiny holes in it. these will go into the headers with four(4) pins sticking out of them labeled "JRGB:. there will also be 3 or 4 pin fan plugs. these will go into the headers labeled "sysfan" or "cpufan" or anything with "fan" in the label. each fan should have one(1) RGB cable and one(1) fan cable. The actual pump, which is the part that goe on the CPU, should also have one(1) of each. -
yes, you can do this. after plugging them in, simply download the software needed to control them and you will be able to do so.

Weird Boot with incompatible motherboard and CPU
Asez23 replied to Asez23's topic in Troubleshooting
its not. i get display output the whole time. the gpu lights coming on happens while the bios screen is flashing and the cpu fan stops at around the time windows loads in. takes a total of 5-8 seconds. -

no its actually pretty fast. just the noise and flashing lights is annoying and distracting edit: i use a kingston hyperx 3k 240gb ssd that gets about 500mbps read/write -
Weird Boot with incompatible motherboard and CPU
Asez23 replied to Asez23's topic in Troubleshooting
ill deal with pain as long as i dont have to hear the cacophony my computer makes every time i hit the power button -
...So i made a mistake and purchased a b550 motherboard (GIGABYTE B550M AORUS Pro-P) to use with my ryzen 7 2700. not wanting to drive 1hr to return it, i saw a youtube video where you flash the mobo with a modified BIOS file to make it work. I did this by downloading the F11 BIOS from https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Motherboard/B550M-AORUS-PRO-P-rev-10/support#support-dl-bios and changing the file called "B550MAPP.F11" to "GIGABYTE.bin". It worked alright, but the boot is really weird. First, i power it on. No GPU lights and all fans at max RPM. A few seconds later, the GPU lights turn on. Follow
