Asus TUF Gaming Z490 Plus & RGB Strips

As the title says, I own a Asus TUF Z490 board that has 2 RGB headers (4 pin 12v each). I also have a regular RGB strip (12v, R, G, B), currently connected to an electrical outlet via a 12v adapter/controller that comes with it. My question is, is it safe to connect this strip to the board directly? If yes, how will the lighting function?

Thank you guys.
