CPU Cooler Compatibility

Since I'm working on an old/new type build I'm going to ask. Would any of the older socket coolers work on the ryzen series am4 socket? I know I can get new but if I can keep the nostalgia and find more new old stock it would be nice. Thanks for any input.

i would assume no because older coolers needed new mounting kit when AM4 came out, even though they supported almost all previous AMD and Intel CPUs

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately
