Storage On Mac Mini

Go to solution Solved by Slottr,

Yes you can, and  the installation process is the same, just point it to the external drive

My gaming PC is currently on my first floor and I am planning on moving it into my basement, and am thinking of putting a M1 Mac Mini in its place. It would be used by my mother and I mostly for the web, light photo editing, and other light tasks. I am wondering if I can hook up a external ssd and load apps onto it so I don't need to buy upgraded storage. Is it possible to install apps directly onto the ssd, and if so, how?
