I've registered here just to thank @GoodBytes for helping me sort something that has been bothering me for years!

I use a Logitech K400 keyboard and have always hated the OSD that Logitech SetPoint forces on you - in the options you can either have OSD on or off and turning it off disables the OSD altogether rather than defaulting to the Windows 10 one. I got a bee in my bonnet about it yesterday and after some digging came across and old post from 7 years ago on the (now defunct) Logitech forum.

Despite the post being about Windows 8 and the K800 the solution still worked, only issue was I had to change the button number and event type to match what was in my user.xml - I didn't do this at first and it seemed to work after the first reboot but then it went back to the Logitech OSD. I don't think it was mentioned in the OP but I set also the file to read only just in case.

So thanks again @GoodBytes (I'm assuming you're the same person that posted over on the Logitech forum!)

EDIT - In case anyone actually has this same issue I realised why it was reverting to the Logitech OSD (even after I made the file read only). I'll have to start by saying I have a shortcut to open the program minimised when I start Windows as I have the "Edge Gestures" settings disabled and if you have it set to start the normal way those settings act like they are still enabled - opening the app sorts that. Unfortunately, it sits in the taskbar and when I eventually close the Window as it annoys me having it sit there it starts using the Logitech OSD again! I have now found that starting the program from a script will run it in the background without opening the Window - now I'm getting the Windows OSD and my "Edge Settings" are properly disabled.
