Budget (including currency): £2000+

Country: United Kingdom

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: AC Valhalla, Watch Dogs, Rocket League and running VMs.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

So far I have the following parts in hand:

Intel Core i7-10700K 3.8 GHz 8-Core Processor

PNY GeForce GTX 1660 6 GB XLR8 Gaming OC Edition GPU

Asus PRIME Z490-A ATX LGA1200 Motherboard

G.Skill Trident Z 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory

Corsair 275R Airflow ATX Mid Tower Case

---------------------------------------------------------------

Thinking of buying the Corsair h100i liquid cpu cooler as its currently on offer.

Just wondering if it'll fit my I7-10700K LGA1200 socket? PCPARTPICKER seems to say it will but the amazon descrption says 115x only i think?

Also need some advice on a decent PSU? I guess I'mma need something with 850W, fully modular, any ideas? Preferably something available on amazon.

That psu is so expensive all because of it's branding get this one

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/jtm323/corsair-rm-2019-850-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-cp-9020196-na

It's an excellent unit and under half the price. Drives up to a 3080 no problem.

For cooler I avoid watercooling unless absolutely needed as in space issues. They fail quicker and don't magically cool better than aircoolers.

For an air cooler I recommend the dark rock pro 4, sycthe fuma 2 or sycthe ninja 5 (this one for pure pure silence the other are quiet too but this one just a bit more) all are better than the h100i and cost less normally.

Not sure if the space would fit but the RGB of the H100I looks awesome aha.

It's currently  only £100 on Amazon too, how much are the other non-liquid cooling ones usually?

The sycthe ones go for around 50 pounds usually. The dark rock pro 4 around 70 but it's the same performance as the sycthe ones give or take 1-2c between all of them.

Ight, think for the £30-40 I'll go with the RGB, know liquid cooling will probably need changing sooner than a fan but im expecting at least a year or twos usage minimum right?

Also any other recommendations on a PSU? can't really find the one you said on any UK sites.

Yeah the h100i will last about 3 years and then you can expect failiure. Some live far longer tho. Installing the radiator properly will also really add to the lifespan. Basically the rule is that the radiator always has to be higher than the pump so air can be trapped in it instead of the pump. It has airtraps on the end where the tubes don't come in so if mounting in the front make sure that side points up.

I did not at all see that you have a 1660 in there. i wouldn't go for that psu but for the one I linked but the 750w version that would allow you to basically upgrade to any gpu. (3080 might be close). Or just get a 500w psu plenty good for your rig as is.

Awesome!! Also thanks for the info about the Water cooler! I'm assuming my case has the right mounts to mount the fants to the top of the case seeing as again PCPartPicker doesn't show any incompatibilities but really appreciate you being here to help me check before splurging!
