Hey there,

I was going to purchase the Asus Maximus Gene Motherboard until the Asus Gryphon Armour kit and Motherboard came on sale.

I was wondering if I should stick with the Gene or buy the gryphon and save myself $60, that or if there are any performance differences.

Thanks

There is a small difference, the Gene has more features and the better audio.

Edit: And of course the colors, as far as price/performance goes, i would pick the Gryphon.

If I was going to SLI 780's and Put a i7 4770k with 1866 ram would there be a performance difference. Plus I use a mixamp so the sound doesnt bother me much.

The motherboard doesn't affect performance.

If you dont realy care about the colors i would say just grab the Gryphon, if it realy saves you $60.

$60 for a better soundchip, i dont think  thats realy worth it.

Good point

It's the same in terms of performance, however the ROG board has better onboard audio compared to the Gryphon. Though the Gryphon has a 5-year warranty and the cool armor kit. Pick whichever you like better.
