Budget (including currency): £1000

Country: England (UK)

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Warzone/Cold War/ Borderlands 3/Cyber Punk

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Making the move from Xbox one to PC. Because of my job I don't have time to play a huge number of games, will probably only play warzone/cold war with my friends and any other single player games, i.e. RD2, Cyberpunk.
Should I hold out for the Ryzen 5 5600x, (which is proving hard to get) or go for something like the Ryzen 3 5600x

Already bought:
Gigabyte 2060 OC 6gb
MSI B550 gaming edge wifi
Sabrent Rocket NVME 4.0 500gb
Looking at:
NZXT H510
Ryzen 5 5600x
Corsair LPX 3200 16gb
PSU will be anything >500w and 80 plus bronze

I like the H510 because it's minimalistic and has modern front I-O, but heard questionable things about airflow.
May do some light overclocking down the line so will invest in an AIO later on.

If you really want it now, or want to save a bit, go for a 3600x

Otherwise a 5600x would be best, but a 3600x is still and will for a while be a perfectly fine cpu

I would say go for a 3600x

edit: 3600 should go for 180 pounds on amazon soon, not the 3600x though

Thanks for the suggestion - I've heard rumours of a ryzen restock soon (24th ish), If I cant get it on the next drop I'll probably go last gen, feel like I might get serious byers remorse if I jump the gun now. From what I've read performance is similar but trying to be as future proofed as possible.

Also, a 3700x retails for about the same as a 5600x so maybe consider that for futureproofing

edit: If you want a better base clock then go with a 3800x, only $30 more, but if you are willing to overclock a little then you can get the same performance out of a 3700x

edit2: forgot to say that this is in the US, may not apply to you in the UK

It's not far off, only £30 for the 3700x and £70 more for the 3800x, probably wouldn't go that far as my budget as started to creep a little bit already.

(I was going for the B450 originally but slashed a little extra for the B550 since I grabbed a fast M.2 in an amazon pre-black Friday sale).

a 5600x has a small bit better performance than a 3700x though, and is cheaper, so I would say go for a 5600x

paired with a 2060, there won't be a big difference between 3600 and 5600x. you can see the difference between those cpus when paired with high end gpus.

also, don't get the 510 because of bad airflow and don't get "any" 500w blonze psu. there are plenty that are bad.

get one from tiers A or B in the PSU tier list

Any suggestions for a better case?

Only criteria being: Minimalist design, glass side panel, modern front I-O (type -c) and good airflow, (so I can overclock later on and install an AIO).
Also, what's good a suggestion for PSU? 500w-600w , no ketchup and mustard cables. The list was good but found it hard to work out what was what.
