Which post-lease Lenovo T460 should I choose?

Hi,
I plan to buy a Lenovo T460 which will be mainly used for web browsing, connecting to remote desktops and occasional PHP / Python programming. I have two specifications to choose from:
- T460p i5-6440HQ / SSD 256GB / 8GB
- T460 i5-6300U / SSD 512GB / 16GB

 

The i5-6440HQ has 4 cores, but I wonder how this will affect the battery life and the temperature of the case (I hate when the case under the wrists is too warm). On the other hand, I used the T460 with the i5-6300U for a while and it worked very slowly on the battery, but I suspect it was a matter of bios or settings because it's impossible that this laptop works so slowly.

I'd go for the i5-6440HQ for sure and just upgrade the ram if needed later.
