Which PSU for i7 4790k + asus rog strix 3070 gaming oc?

Winoys

Hey! Thanks for clicking on the post, sorry for the paragraphs of text, but I'd be happy to get help :)

I currently have a Corsair CX750M (for about 7 years) but recently started having random bluescreens (mostly memory management and PFN list corrupt) and sometimes crashes without a BSOD. I've been trying to diagnose the problem with my system but to no avail. Tried doing most things: changing, and unplugging GPU (including driver-updates and such), changing CPU (and turning down/off overclocks), reinstalling windows, buying new SSD and unplugging my HDD. I've watched countless of hours of Youtube-fixes that lead nowhere. The only two things I've yet to try changing is the motherboard and the PSU, however, getting a new mobo for my CPU (i7 4790k) is very hard for a reasonable price where I live so I'm planning on purchasing a new PSU to try that instead.

Now, to my current problem. I know the pairing of an i7 4790k and a 3070 seems ridiculous, but I wanted to get one anyway. I do not have the 3070 currently (it's in shipping) but have a Radeon RX 580. If I am to buy a new PSU, which should I get? I've looked at wattage calculators and such and most recommend having a 650w PSU, any recommendations? Or maybe know how to solve my problems? Thanks in advance.

Component list:

Motherboard: ASUS Z87-K

RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR3 2x8GB, these were purchased at different times, it says on them they are version 5.21 and 7.21 respectively.

CPU: Intel i7 4790K (overclocked to 4.7 GHz)

CPU-Cooler: Noctua NH-D15

GPU: Sapphire Radeon RX 580 8gb Nitro+ (soon to be ASUS ROG STRIX 3070 8gb Gaming OC)

SSD: Samsung 860 EVO 250 GB

PSU: Corsair CX750M

Try a Tier A or B from the list... 650w would be good, for the 3070 and whatever CPU you upgrade to most likely, unless you go with a power hungry mass-core CPU.

Thanks for the reply, I'll check the list out!

Sorry for the double-post btw, I'm completely new to the forums so I have no idea of how this works 😅
