Might be coming into roughly 1500$ looking to build a new gaming pc. Looking for suggestions if maybe I should wait or if it's a good time to buy depending on the new amd cpus coming and the 30 series(though I think those might be out of my price range)

Current pc specs

i5 6600k 4.2ghz

Gtx 1070ftw

Asus maximus viii hero

Recently bought 32g corsair pro rgb 3200ram(could probably use that in New build?)

Acer predator 1080p 144hz 27"

a lot of people are moving over to zen 3 because of its 19% ipc uplift over last gen, what this means is that the cpu gets a lot more done at a set clock speed.

the simplest way i can put it is that a zen 3 processor with 6 cores at 4.5 ghz can beat a i9 10th gen processor with 6 cores at 4.6 ghz.

also, if you do go the zen 3 route you should get a x570 tuf to go along with it - https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-TUF-X570-Plus-Motherboard-Lighting/dp/B07SXF8GY3

and if i were you i would wait until the reviews for the 6000 series amd gpu's release, so you and i both will know which gpu line up is the better buy.

Please wait until the new stuff comes out.

Few people suggested that so far so I guess I'll wait maybe save up afew more bucks as well.. What's the max wait you think? I've been reading up on the new amds just can't remember of the top of my head.

Obviously have to wait till it drops then a little while after for reviews then make a decision which will add time...I get that

Oh and just a rough idea for price you think if i do end up going with the new?

Don't worry Linus will drop it ;)

Yeah just save your $$$$$$ until the new stuff comes out then splurge. Don't cheap out on important components just to wait for the next thing to come out. Like don't cheap out on mobo's or cpu's, buy what you need then and there.
