reinstalling windows would be faster, you could create a backup point for windows if you think something could be lost. going to the task manager and sorting programs by usage, and background tasks by usage would be more helpful. Keep the realtek, chrome, Intel, Microsoft C (could be used by any program), Other things could be important based on usage, I don't know about the lenovo programs I would do more research(not an exhastive recommendation). Unless your drive is >90% full having these deleted won't speed up your system like turning off startup items.

for a start you definitely need to upgrade your prosessor

to say, a quad core and how much space is left on your hdd/ssd?

and lastly, do you have an antivirus program?

first of all. i have an AIO.

pentium dual core. 1.9ghz. It is integrated cant upgrade.  i have a 1tb hdd, about 400gb left. which is why im deleting old documents.

and yes, i have mcafee. i think on the list there is a webadvisor one, and i kinda need it to be safe as my brother uses it and doesnt realy understand what dodgy websites look like or what not to click on

but i would love to hear your thoughts

ok, so I understand that removing old documents is your only option but it isn`t going to do anything as you have 400gb left, so this is my response:

I have checked you benchmarks and since you are using a HDD which even linus dosen`t use HDD`s as well. This is bad as HDD`s only have the speed ranges from 0.1 to 300 megabytes per second (MB/s)  so i suggest you move on to an SSD as your operating system, oh wait your using an AIO, never mind so you last resort is switching to another pc, sorry. This time, don`t get a pre-built and an AIO as your new system.

let me give more info.

my pc started acting up about a year ago, before that it was just fine. and ive had it a few years. Can having lots of files make a pc slow (ie. videos, picture, documents etc.)?

Having a lot of files won't make your computer slow. The only way that could happen is if your whole entire hard drive was full (with only 1 or 2 GB of free space). You said you have 400GB of space left, so files, videos, pictures etc are not your problem.

Sometimes, performing a clean reinstall of windows will help speed things up. Make sure to save all your important files to a separate external hard drive or a secure cloud backup before you do.

How old is your PC? At a certain point computers (especially ones with integrated parts) reach the end of their effective lifespan and there's not much that can be done. Don't lose hope though, there are many other options to help speed it up that other people can probably speak about more accurately than me.

SSD is - and it's gonna get actually worst and worst - a real need for windows now a days.
I saw a real increase in random write demands by windows, and this is exactly where HDD suck at.
Put a SSD, reset your w10, install your windows on your brand new SSD ( with still your HDD in second drive for data storage ), install all your applications on it, and you gonna find your pc snapier than it's never been before, even day one. Garanteed.

There could be a couple reasons. Sometimes, the physical parts inside the computer start to degrade over time, the same way the engine of a car starts to get worn down after many years. Another reason could be that as Microsoft updates Windows, they make it use more resources (RAM,CPU, etc) because they see that most people have newer computers that can handle the extra workload that Windows puts on them.

Before you try a clean reinstall, check how many programs you have that launch on startup. Try setting all of these to disabled and see if that helps.

A fresh windows install won't require you to connect to the internet, but transferring all your files to an external HDD might take some time, probably several hours for 600GB of files. Definitely try other options (like disabling Startup programs) before attempting to reinstall Windows.

I've cleaned up startup programs, disabled all that are not needed. But the loadup is still like a minute or so. i think the last resort is reinstall windows, because ive tried everything else

Ok, just make very sure to save all your files to a separate drive (not the one you have windows installed on) before you reinstall it.

Because everything evolve, that's it... Windows and hardware...
Everything goes fast in technologies.
One day your pc is on top, ready to face everything that you throw at it, the next, not so anymore.
