Is this common on IPS panels?

My Asus VG249Q arrived today, but I noticed two weird black spots/shadows on the top left and top right corners of the screen. I think it's related to the viewing angle, because if I move myself they disappear, I'd just like to know if that's normal or if I should return my monitor. I can also see a black smudge if looking to my monitor while standing.

If this is bothering you then what about the blacks, did you check that yet? No bleeding or just general being "grey'ish"?
