I just build my new pc with the following components:

ASUS ROG Strix X570-I Gaming - mITX / X570

AMD Ryzen 5 5600X

HyperX Fury RGB 32GB (2x16GB) / 3200MHz / DDR4 / CL16 / HX432C16FB3AK2/32

RTX 3070 Gigabyte Eagle OC

Corsair Force MP600 SSD M.2 - 1TB

After installing everything, and double checking all power connections etc, the system doesnt POST.

In the motherboard, the POST notifiaction LED is stuck powered on in the DRAM position (yellow/orange-ish, first one in the stack).

I tried removing the RAM and installing one of them, in every configuration possible (regarding to which module and which slot) and nothing.

Before buying i checked the compatibility of the RAM and that model is listed in ASUS website as compatible.

Also tried removing the GPU, a SATA SSD i have also installed but the problem remains.

Is it possible this is a BIOS issue? Do I need to update my BIOS before installing the new Ryzen 3 CPU? Or is it most likely a RAM issue?

Any ideas what I should try next?

Thank you in advance!

/Nikos

yes buddy

all x570 chipset need a bios update

but all asus rog board has a bios flash back and you can flash the bios just with a usb stick without the cpu

check the Asus ROG website

Is there a guide on how to do that, when the system doesn't even POST? I cannot find anything online regarding that :(

You don't need the system to post. What you do is you download the latest bios for your board. Extract that to a usb drive. Plug that drive in to the marked usb slot at the back io sheild ( if you are unsure what one, look in your motherboard manual ). Then press the bios button on the io sheild. It will update by itself.

Also make sure you have power on when you do this. Power from the mains. Don't try and turn the pc on just plug the usb drive at the back and press the bios button.

My motherboard doesn’t have neither a bios button nor a USB port marked as such in the back

Ah. You board doesn't support flash back. I just checked. Looks like you need to get your hands on either a loaner cpu (if amd is doing that this time) or a cheap old zen2 cpu. You need it to flash the bios. Btw your board does support the cpu but only with the up to date bios. I checked that as well.

Unfortunately, that board doesn't have Bios flashback. You'd need to borrow a 3000 series AMD cpu to update the bios for it.

AMD does that. Link above.

Thanks a lot @The_Murdoch

Another thing I saw someone mention is to see if you can bring it into a computer shop near you and see if they can just pop one of their 3000 series chip in and update the bios for you. Not sure if that's an option for you or not.
