My specs:

AMD Ryzen 3 3100 3.6GHz CPU

Stock CPU cooler (wraith or something)

ASUS PRIME B450 PLUS AM4 socket motherboard

1x4gb 2400MHz Corsair LPX Vengeance CMK4GX4M1A2400C14 RAM

Some case from CPC that was £25, good design and great airflow with 1x80mm fan

3x120mm RGB fans

2TB SEAGATE BARRACUDA hard drive

AMD HD8350 1GB (Some hard drive from 2013 that cost me £2.60 on eBay) Graphics card

My computer boots up but there is no video output. At first I didn't have a graphics card, thinking that I could still have video output just from the CPU, after talking to Currys PC world tech support they said that I need a dedicated graphics card to have any video output, any graphics card will do. The Ryzen 3 3100 alone doesn't have integrated graphics so I need a graphics card, any would do though. After buying an old graphics card and installing it, still no video output. With it installed I've tried finding video output using the HDMI output on the motherboard and the DMS 59 output from the graphics card. Currys also suggested to take out the BIOS battery for 20 seconds to reset the CMOS. I did that, still nothing. I'm stumped and I don't have the money to pay £80/hour for someone else to tell me they don't know. I'm stumped so far, any advice?

Forget PCWorld, they know jack shit about computers, my local PC shop charged £40 for a diagnosis.

Set the motherboard on the motherboard box with the CPU cooler, CPU, RAM and graphics card installed.

  • Plug in the 8 pin CPU connectort
  • Plug in the 24 pin connector
  • Plug in the graphics card connector to GPU
  • Bridge the power pins on the motherboard with a screwdriver to start the system
  • See if it boots up

If you are stuck, use this video  for reference:

The computer already boots up, there's just no video output. It boots up fine, everything is connected, all of the fans spin and light up, just no video output

Don't plug the monitor into the motherboards hdmi.

Make sure you're only using your graphics card outputs.

Also make sure your monitor is set to what ever input you're using (ie. HDMI or VGA or DVI, etc)

Otherwise follow the advice above.

I already did that, the graphics card has a DMS59 output, and I'm using a DMS59 male to HDMI female adapter. I tried using just the video output of the graphics card and not the motherboard before, still nothing. The first thing I did was look through the HDMI, VGA, PC etc inputs, nothing. I've spoken with tech support multiple times and nothing. I'm using an ASUS motherboard and I've been in contact with ASUS about the yellow blinking light the comes on from the motherboard, they have no clue what it means.

Have you verified that the video card is actually still good?

The card seller said it is in full working condition with 1k 5 star reviews to back him up. I'm planning to get a MSI AMD RX 570 8GB ARMOR OC graphics card for real performance, but for now I only need this one to work to get output and it seems in perfect condition, the fan spins and it warms up.
