That is exactly what I would expect to see, no issue at all

Hi guys,

Need your help/advice.

I`ve installed new Ryzen 3700x (previous CPU Ryzen 1600) to my MSI x370 motherboard recently. Also I have 2x8GB Hyperx Predator RAM sticks which were installed with the old CPU before. I use XMP porfile 1 with 2999 mhz speed, but I see only 1500 mhz in windows task manager. It worked perfectly with a ryzen 1600 on 2999 mhz speed.

What could have gone wrong?

Oh, also I`ve updated BIOS as well before installing new CPU

But why it shows me 3000mhz when I was on ryzen 1600 and 1500mhz on ryzen 3700x?

do    not   knwo,    but   DDR=    douple   data rate   so   1500mhz=3000mhx

Did you check the memory speed after you installed the new Bios but before the new CPU? Also how are you detecting the memory clock?

No, I didn`t check that. When I goes to xmp profiles I see chosen speed (3000) is currently works. Maybe I really misunderstand something.

So as I understand, if BIOS shows me the right speed no big deal what shows me windows task manager, and RAM works at 3000 mhz clock speed. Am I right?

In task manager my memory shows at the full speed (DDR rate) but in CPUiD it shows the true clock rather than the data rate so it does make a difference where you read it. I have no idea if this is also motherboard dependent as to what shows where but I would trust what your MB says over others
