Background Application keeps running

I'm having trouble with my Windows 10 where at night I keep my computer on and it will be quiet for about 5-10 minutes, and then the CPU fan will start ramping up and make it real loud for a few minutes and then go back to normal. I've shut down every program in my taskbar, but nothing helped. I've checked in the task management at the CPU usage but did not find anything wrong. What program can I use to track this behavior and find out why it's doing this because it's getting real annoying. Submit

Are you sure you don't have a lot of programs hidden?

I had that happen a fair bit too. (But then i got a better cooler and the noise wasnt a issue)

The reason for it was automatic Windows Updates/Defender scans, Hard Drive Defrags, Game Updates.

Its possible that you just have a shitty cooler that cant handle the burst of heat that happens when the system does stuff.
Windows keeps track of active hours, and does that stuff when it sees the PC isnt being used and is just chillin.

PS: The second the system notices that you are back, it stops all of the windows things. (Atleast thats how it was for me)

Well I can't get a different CPU cooler because I'm using an Intel. NUC, it still does it during day but I'm going to check Windows defender to make sure that's not it. I did close everything in the more arrow on the taskbar.  I've disabled the active hours but it still happens
