Hi,

I have just purchased and recieved my RTX 3070 FE. Currently not impressed by the performance, possibily thinking it's bottlenecked? All games played at 1440p

I also used DDU to remove and reinstall drivers. Was getting similar FPS on my Strix 1080 which was the predecessor of my 3070.

Spec:

CPU - i5 8600k 5GHz OC

GPU - RTX 3070 FE

PSU - EVGA SuperNova G1 750W

MB - Asus Strix Z370-F

RAM - 32GB 3200MHz Tident Z

F1 2020 Results - <graphics_detail preset="Ultra High" restartRequired="false" />
    <track season="2020" name="melbourne" weather="clear" laps="1" cars="20" camera_mode="Cycle" />
    <results samples="11020" total_time="105" min_fps="75" max_fps="142" min_frame_time_ms="7.032836" max_frame_time_ms="13.175473" avg_fps="104" avg_frame_time_ms="9.604300" />

Valorant 1440p Ultra - 200-250FPS

RDR2 1440p Medium - 40-55FPS

Have you noticed if the gpu runs at 100% usage when playing those games?

just run the F1 benchmark again, monitored it using MSI AB, GPU usage was about 98% majority of the time and CPU usage was 45-60% fluxuating.

GPU Temp Max 68C

CPU temp max 61C

I had a similar problem, I’d recommend going to DDU settings and make sure it removes everything Nvidia related, even GeForce experience, once finished reinstall GeForce experience and let it install the driver and see if it has changed anything.

Im assuming you’re using the 12 pin connecter or whatever they’re using on the FE edition and not just a standard 8 pin?

I will give it a try now, yeah using the supplied 12pin adapter.

It's now some how worse than before. I'm thinking maybe the card is a faulty some how.

You should contact Nvidia to see what they suggest, if it is faulty then it’s just bad luck and you should get a replacement.

  • 2 weeks later...

Update - sent the 3070FE back to Scan UK. Their tests came back as...

"underperorming - low frames in game

stress tested with benchmark GPU failing"

I have seen on a few forums of people having issues with their 3070 FE cards so maybe it isn't just drivers and there are a bunch of faulty cards out there.
