"Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

MoonlightSylv

So I've been having a problem for a while, it only occurs when playing Black Desert Online on high settings after a few minutes to an hour of gameplay. When checking event viewer the error given is "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered." I'm inclined to believe this is a hardware issue as I believe this started happening after a failed overclock but I'm not 100% certain and this only seems to happen while playing BDO. No other games, no benchmarks, nothing else. Is my card just dying or is this some weird software thing? I also heard that it could be a power supply issue and this weekend I'll have my bf test my card in his PC to eliminate that as a factor. In the meantime does anyone have any ideas?

Things I've tried:

- DDU-ing and reinstalling graphics drivers

- Reseating PSU cables on both ends and trying the second connector for PCIe power on the PSU

- A registry tweak that changes the TdrDelay to 10 seconds instead of 2, all this did was make the freeze last longer

- Adjusting power settings in nvidia control panel from "optimal power" to "prefer maximum performance"

The thing that is strangest to me is that I haven't been able to replicate this issue with any other game or program. I even ran OCCT's GPU test for an hour with 0 errors.
