I have a B550 mobo with PCIe 4 x16 slot and recently purchased a RTX 3070. Once I get it I need to change gpu in my system from RX580.

The riser cable i'm using currently in my itx case is a PCIe 3. I know I need to get a PCIe4 riser cable.

But will the PCIe 3 riser cable work until I get the new one?

The riser cable can probably do PCIe 4.0, if not you can set the slot to 3.0 in the BIOS. You won't see a performance loss, though.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Yeah, people have benched RTX3090s on both PCIe 3.0 & PCIe 4.0, there is absolutely no difference in performance between the two.

Main Rig:-

Ryzen 7 3800X | Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming | 16GB Team Group Dark Pro 3600Mhz | Corsair MP600 1TB PCIe Gen 4 | Sapphire 5700 XT Pulse | Corsair H115i Platinum | WD Black 1TB | WD Green 4TB | EVGA SuperNOVA G3 650W | Asus TUF GT501 | Samsung C27HG70 1440p 144hz HDR FreeSync 2 | Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS |

Server:-

Intel NUC running Server 2019 + Synology DSM218+ with 2 x 4TB Toshiba NAS Ready HDDs (RAID0)

@jchakramakal may i ask what case you are using?

Its a custom build case. Attached some pics. You can see, its height adjustable and in the inside I can adjust the plate were mobo is installed based on GPU thickness/CPU cooler height.
