Question about the gold contacts on ram sticks

I have just bought some new ram and I noticed on the gold contact a dark line in them and I inow this isn't a defect because a bought to kits of ram and they both have it. Am I seeing a trace?

Looks like the RAM was previous inserted into slots, possibly for testing at factory.

Why would putting them into slots leave that?

The contacts on the slots probably leave a small cosmetic scratch on the gold plating, or it's intentionally indented to help the slot's pins stay in their lane. Either way, it's nothing to worry about.

I've seen some board that leave scuff marks on the pins when being inserted and removed from the slots. Looked a lot like what you have pictured.

Yeah i knew it was nothing to worry about because both sets have it, also I have tested it and it works. Just wanted to know what it was.

doing a bit more digging it seems to be 100% normal because I found some images. Where I got the image from they weren't talking about the dark line.
