MSI 970 Gaming or Gigabyte GA-970-Gaming

Hi, thanks for reading.

What's the best motherboard, in your opinion?

MSI 970 Gaming or Gigabyte GA-970-Gaming?

Why?

I'm using a FX-8320.

I can buy both of the motherboards very cheap.

Thank you!

Are you sure?

The Gigabyte GA-970-Gaming was released near the end of the FX / AM3+ life, but it's a 4+1 VRM.

The MSi 970 Gaming is a 3(x2) + 2 VRM -- using doublers on the CPU phases to get "6" + 2.

Yeah, I'm sure. Better build quality.

Thank you, ShrimpBrime.

I'll follow your opinion.

Just to rememeber:

There is a Gigabyte GA-970-Gaming motherboard, and a Gigabyte GA-970-Gaming SLI motherboard.

The second was reviewed by some experts and is a great board.

About the first, I don't know, but I'll follow your opinion.

Thank you!

No no no,that's a bad idea!

I had the Gigabyte board,i regretted buying it.

I couldn't overclock the CPU above 4.2GHz without hitting the over current protection of the board.

Gigabyte has been second to none for a very long time. MSI in the AM2 AM3 generations where sub par. A lot of this information I have gathered and remember from Overclocking forums, I frequent many. That aside from personal experience. Probably 40 or more AM2/3 processors that I've overclocked on various motherboards, also have accumulated a fist full of knowledge from.

What over current protection. That board isn't equipped with that any more than the M5A78L..... which mine did 2.0v+ .....?
