Quick cpu power question

I have a motherboard with a 8 pin and a 4 pin connection.  CPU 1 and cpu 2. I just plug in the 8 pin and only half of the other 8 pin (4 pin) and just leave the remaining 4 pin hanging correct?

Yeah you can do that. The purpose of the 8 pin with extra 4 pin is for more serious overclocking potential due to power draws.

The extra 4 pin is for over clocking, if you don’t plan to hardcore OC, you’ll be fine

Yea but I just wanna plug in both cause it looks better imo. Just wanted to make sure I was doing it right :)
