Airpods 2

I am thinking about buying airpods 2 for my android phone and ipad, but I have a quick question.

 

Will one ear listening work with the other AirPod in the case I know it works on AirPod 1 but I don't know about 2s.

as far as i know, one airpod should work while the other is still in the case just like with the airpods 1
