Audio interference since GPU upgrade

It could be PSU related. With a 3700x and rtx3080 the minimum recommended PSU is is 750w. So while you are probably fine and your PSU may not crap out, it is going to be pushed to its limits, which could in turn cause noise/interference.

Hello good people,

 

since i upgraded to my 3080 i get severe interference on my microphone audio running off my Asus Xonar Essence STX II internal sound card. It gets worse when the GPU is under heavier load and is inaudible when the GPU is idling. It doesn't bother me because i don't use any mic-monitoring, but it makes me hard to understand sometimes because it sounds like a lawnmower is running behind me. Is there any way to lessen or fix the issue without going for an external solution? Or is the interference more likely coming from the PSU when it's under heavy load? (Full specs in my signature)

I second this.

I would look at the PSU as prime suspect.

Daily driver (looking to upgrade mobo and cpu spring of 2021)   --- The only time I sort by price from high to low is when I am shopping for CPU's and GPU's (looking for a cheap i7-7700k though)

Quick follow-up. I've changed out my RMx 650W PSU to a RMx 850W unit, now all my problems refering audio interference are gone. I guess it was just my previous PSU running at it's limits.
