Budget (including currency):  I'm planning on spending around 900-1000 $US, but I am willing to spend a bit extra if its worth it.

Country: I live in Denmark.

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Its not going to have a specific use. I'm going to play some games, but as of now I havent played very many different ones, so I dont have an exact idea of what games it's going to be. Besides gaming i'll just be working, but not with very heavy programs.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

I'm am not going to need mouse or keyboard since i already own those(Logitech G502 and G413), I will need however to get another monitor since the one i have currently runs on 60hz, but at 1440p which I like  (its a HP EliteDisplay E272q). To clarify I intent to keep it as my second display.

I would upgrade from an old HP Prodesk 400 G3 SFF with a i3-6100 CPU, 16GB RAM (upgraded from 8GB) and an intel HD 530 graphics card on Windows 7 professional.

Tell me if i forgot to cover something.

I would be extremely grateful for your time and any help, since I haven't got any experience with this.

Thank you!

1290$ including a 1080p 144 Hz monitor 1TB NVMe and a great liquid cooler

this a fantastic system for you with its powerful gpu and cpu.

ask me if you have any question.

As you are not sure about future gaming, you can save money on CPU and GPU, and spend a bit more on the motherboard, PSU and RAM.

Generally speaking, go for an AMD Ryzen system if you're building now/soon, with either a B550 or X570 motherboard - shop around as you can get some X570 boards almost as low as a B550. Both of those options will give you PCIe gen 4 x16, and be compatible with the new 5000 series CPUs.

For now, you could consider anything from the 3100x to the 3600x depending on how the budget allows. All of them will perform typical "office" work exceptionally well.

Aim for DDR4-3600 RAM, CL16 if you can. To be honest, you may not notice the difference with CL18, and it may be a bit cheaper if you need to compromise. Only go with 3200 if you absolutely have to, and certainly not lower!

Go with an 80+ Bronze PSU, Corsair, Seasonic, whatever well-known brand meets your budget. Semi-modular is nice to have, but non-modular can save money without compromising on quality. I wouldn't bother going with fully-modular, as you pay more for the privilege of having to plug in cables you can't omit.

GPU, really down to cost. 1660 nvidia might be a good budget choice, given uncertainty over future gaming needs.

I don't think that the cpu cooler is necessary and some money can be saved my removing it because ryzen cpus come stock with a pretty good air cooler

yes but cpu is probably going to bottleneck the gpu

if he wants to overclock the cpu he is going to need the x570 board and the liquid cooler

Yes the gpu will be bottlenecked but you'll only be losing a couple of frames and overclocking the cpu just isnt worth it. And i agree with your choise of mobo especially since it has confermed support for ryzen 5.

B550 can overclock...

Also, you can overclock just as well with a good aircooler.

Just wondering, but i have fallen a bit in love with 1440p monitors, and what would you guys then recommend? If its a mix between performance and looks, what about the Dell 27 Gaming Monitor: S2721DGFor is that just stupid?

Not sure why overclocking is a consideration here?

Idk either, but @Alireza said you need an X570 to overclock Zen 2, which is not true.

That’s a pricey monitor for your budget.

im not saying we need x570

x570 is better and has more capabilities and better vrms

Also, a good B550 has just as good vrms as a decent X570.

Your GPU choice was overkill, as I said previously. Maybe check OP's requirements again?

yes but who doesn't want a better gpu?

if he wants

he can go 2060 super too and save about 100$

but i would've pay extra 100 for a better gpu

There’s something called a budget...

it is good price x570 board with a value of a great b550

any person in a right mind would want to go x570

The X570 A pro is one of the worst X570 boards out there. It’s worse than a B550 A-Pro in terms of VRMs, which is normally the same price as the X570, or sometimes cheaper.
