Ryzen 5 2600 GPU pairing

Hi I'm just wondering whats the highest GPU that could be paired with Ryzen 5 2600 in 1440p gaming? Also, can a CPU like R5 2600 handle a RTX 30 series card or a RX 6000 series card? Thanks!

It really depends on the game, games like rainbow 6 siege and tomb raider can leverage that sweet 12 threads and be paired reasonably with a high end GPU, even something like a 3070. Fortnite, on the other hand, suffers on second gen Ryzen for high refresh rates and you'd be losing some performance with a higher end GPU.

 

As for RX 6000 series from AMD, we have yet to see. But, I doubt we will be looking at performance that's higher than something than a 3090 so take advice about the 3000 series performance levels and apply it there as well, cause it'll be the same.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.
