grinding noise whenever i play games

i recently got myself a new motherboard (b450m steel legend) in response to the grinding noise cuz i thought it came from the previous budget motherboard. it didnt. 

its not the hard drive and i had this issue with my previous gpu. its not a case fan or gpu fan. 

 

 

specs:

-ryzen 5 2600 (ik im gonna be upgrading)

-rtx 2070 super 

-b450m steel legend

-corsair vengence pro rgb 3200 mhz

-corsair 650 w psu

where do you hear it? Through your speakers/headset or a physical sounding grind?

Get yourself a paper towel tube to use as a stethoscope so you can narrow down where in the system the noise is coming from.

You should be able to narrow a noise down to a specific part. 

Let us know what you find.

Sounds like its the power supply fan then.

Can you stick a toothpick or something non-conductive into the fan just enough to stop the fan and see if the noise goes away?

If you stop the fan and the noise goes away, replace the power supply.
