PC Crashes mid game

BlueOmen

Hey, so I've recently gotten some more of my parts for my PC and it's mostly complete, just a few things left to upgrade (ssd, fans, cpu cooler - i'm using the wraith spire right now ect)

Here's my build:

And I've noticed that whenever I'm running a game that uses a low - medium amount of resources, everything runs well - amazingly in fact, same with running applications like discord, google chrome and steam - no problems, hasn't crashed once, but when I'm running a game like, let's say, Escape from Tarkov or rainbow six siege I, again, get awesome frame rates but my pc has a tendency to literally 'flick' off.

* All case fans, cpu fan and all my lights stay on but you can tell their fan speeds change

* The light presets on ram ect go to default

* No video output from neither gpu or mobo (hdmi included)

* PC sounds like it's rebooting (Disk drive does it's usual thing) however, like I said, no video, no bios, nothing. It 'idles' like this for, as far as I can tell, forever - I need to press the restart switch for it to start-up where it goes straight into windows as if nothing happened.

As far as I can tell, CPU, Mobo and GPU temps are absolutely fine - CPU itself around 60-70 degrees before it crashes. And waving my hand around the psu exhaust under load, it's pretty cool.

I seriously doubt the wattage draw being too high but then again, could be a faulty unit - I don't have a psu to swap it out with so I'd have to go to my local specialist but I'm hoping to be able to resolve this myself if I can.

XMP enabled ( have tried off, profile 1 and profile 2)

Have also tried MSI's preset overclock in the bios

BIOS version E7C02AMS.370

I am using the same SSD which I had in my old build, just straight transferred it over

So if anyone has any suggestions or has encountered a similar problem before and fixed it, please let me know it would be a godsend.

You have a amazingly solid build.  Nice CPU for that price and great video card.  Rainbow Six Siege is a older engine and should blast through at 200fps.  Only thing to try as a easy fix is to run DDU Display Driver Uninstaller and run that baby in safe mode and do a clean and restart on nVidia.  Then in normal mode install the latest GeForce drivers and then let us know how your games play and if you get the issues.  If you do get issues on the monitor or crashes be detailed on what went on or what it is so we can help you better.✝🎗💯

Yeah, I've used DDU and reinstalled the latest driver version for my gpu. No change. Some games don't cause the crash when graphics settings are lowered but that doesn't solve the problem - just hoping that info can help. I've ran both cpu and gpu stress tests and temps were fine, wattage didn't exceed 70-80W for cpu and 220W ish for GPU and no crashes. So unless the PSU is unstable I don't think it's an issue. I do wonder, however, if my RAM might be causing problems as since I've disabled XMP I've been able to play siege (which used to cause the crash within 5min) for around 20min with no probs - but I don't know if that was a fluke or not.

EDIT: oh yeah, without XMP it still crashes on other games just didn't on siege that time

If changing settings is crashing game the VRAM might be low or a low ram or working ssd something fishy.  Exactly which model is your video card.  I think perhaps the fans aren't ramping up or something like that.  Or perhaps the PSU is huffing or puffing.  It could be a number of reasons why your experiencing this. Also has it been like this ever since you put the computer together?  Also Im wondering if yo have some apps running perhaps doing something. Also you must check fan speed and GPU temp with MSI AB and report back.🤷‍♀️🎗✝
