I relatively recently built a new computer (April 2020,) and went away for several months over the summer. I made sure my PC was powered off properly, PSU switched off and unplugged along with both of my monitors.

Now, I'm having crashing problems in my video games, regardless of what I play. I've updated my drivers, and tried rolling back drivers. I checked my memory, and ran Windows Memory Diagnostics, and I can rule that out. One thing that stands out during the crash is several artifacts appear on both my screens, and can come randomly. The most recent time a Blue/Red bloom appeared over my game, but my cursor can travel over it.

System specs:
Case: NZXT H510i
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X - Liquid Cooled with NZXT Kraken X63 280mm
Mainboard: MSi MPG X570 Gaming Edge WiFi
RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 3200MHz 16gb (2x8)
GPU: AMD XFX RX 580 8gb
Primary Storage: Samsung 970 Evo 500gb NVMe
Secondary Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2tb HDD
PSU: Thermaltake 750W 80+ Bronze (I think, it's my old PSU from my last rig)

I've attached my DxDiag for any extra information.

How are your drivers?  AMD did a lot of updates.  Artifact info is bad though.  Have you opened things up and made sure nothing made a nest in there or anything?

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

I can see inside of it, so no nests.

Gah “artifact info” was supposed to be “artifacting” Ihateautocorrect.

artifacting is often a hardware problem with your card but it could be drivers.  Small chance the paste on the gpu dried out which is a fixable hardware problem.  If that’s the issue there will be high gpu temps.  I don’t remember what “too high” is for an rx580.  It’s got a Polaris gpu which is getting to the point of archaic so it might not be very high.  It would need to be looked up.

It's common for RX580's to run around 80C under load, mine generally runs 70-75, since I never run max graphics. I like to keep the load down below 75%.

If that’s what it is doing right now I’m doubting a paste problem.
