New build & Upgrade (swap around)

3700x on stock cooler, 2070 super gaming x trio, asus x570 strix board, nvme samsung 1gb ssd, 2gb samsung sata, corsair rmx 750w psu, 570 corsair case

 

My plan is to upgrade maybe cpu and gpu in my build and give that to my son and build him a 1440p gaming pc. At first i thought just give him my gpu and get myself a 3070 upgrade but i dont know if i will get bottle necking on my 3700x and might be better getting myself a 5800x... at first i planned on his build being 3600x and my 2070super... really stuck as not sure what to do... not even sure about what case to get for him either
