What would happen if during a bios update i.e. flashing bios on a LAPTOP ( battery charged to about 50% and connected to an AC adapter ) there is a power cut.

Will this corrupt the bios or will it be updated without any problem.

Asking just out of curiosity

Depends on the brand and model. I have seen some HP laptops have a recovery BIOS partition that will boot if the primary BIOS fails. But if you have just 1 BIOS and no recovery, it could be dead. I had this happen with an MSI B350 Tomahawk Arctic and I hit the restart button instead of RGB button on a case (Thermaltake View 28). I immediately got a new one though, as the store couldn't get it to work and I just had it for 1 day.
