Hey peeps!

So around a month ago I got to a happy point with my PC Build, rig contains this:

AMD Ryzen 7 2700X

Gigabyte Windforce OC GeForce RTX 2060 Super

MSI B450-A Pro Max

2x Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB 3000Mhz (Yes XMP is activate and they're using dual channel, I got yelled at when it posted for this)

WD Blue 7200RPM 1TB HDD (Pretty much everything is on this drive)

120GB Drevo SSD (I know this is bad, it was second hand and £20 I just wanted something for windows to sit on)

Corsair CV 650w 80+ Bronze

So my main gripe is that I believe I've got something wrong with this build as my performance within a fair amount of games is poor (This is my very first attempt at building so I imagine it something stupid simple that I'm unaware of)

When I play Destiny 2 I get around 65-80 FPS on lowest settings 1080p. This to me was not a sufficient bump up from when I had this exact rig but with a 1050ti inside.

Now a couple things I noticed were this - my base temps of the CPU/GPU are around 50-55 Celsius (I don't know if that's bad etc) in game for destiny or anything my CPU/GPU never rose above 80. Admittedly this is more or less a mild estimate as I just tab out to check NZXT Cams to check the temps.

My GPU is not on the top PCI slot, I wasn't 100% sure how much of a detriment to performance this would be but after some light research I've heard it can be an issue with certain Mobo's.

Finally, I am adding another fan for output as I've notice upon inspection I've definitely lacking in that department. I am writing this prior to this addition but I'm pressing X to doubt this is going to completely solve my issue.

Any other ideas? My last thought is that my CPU is a bottleneck, especially within Destiny 2 which may be more highly CPU intensive than I presumed it would be.

Appreciate you all, anything else that you guys need to know in order to help me out I'll try my best to oblige :)

To determine that monitor cpu and gpu usage, if cpu is pinned and gpu has a lot of headroom that would indicate bottleneck (msi afterburner can do onscreen display so you don't have to tab out).
50-55C sounds normal for idle temps, load temps are the real concern and as you said they're fine.

The second x16 slot is pcie2.0 running through the chipset (if I understand properly), probably the problem.

Just went through the fun times of messing with the whole thing.

I forgot why, but I had one of the case fans removed so I added that back in - turns out the connector for it was screwy but I managed to get it in place so that it works fine.

Additionally organised it so the fans that had no dust filter were pulling out air, for some odd reason NZXT mounted them the other way. Also a Noctua fan is mounted on a dust filter and is pulling in air. The RPM of the 3 some what level out but it's mildly in favour of output rbn

Also swapped the PCI port for the GPU and that has made a massive difference when I re-benchmarked it in Unigine - so thanks for clarifying!

Afterburner by what it looks like from the site is only a GPU monitor? Is there another programme that can monitor a CPU as well? Or just a good CPU monitoring programme?

Thanks a lot for your response :)

Glad it worked out.
HWinfo for general system monitoring.

Afterburner is a gpu overclocking utility with a lot of system monitoring data with overlay support for live monitoring in fullscreen and such.
