I'm looking into getting a new MOBO and I was thinking of going B550. I'm stuck on getting the Aorus Master or the Gigabyte Vision D. I know that Gigabyte owns Aorus just like Asus owns ROG and TUF but what I would like to know is that is there a difference between Gigabyte and Aorus in stuff like build quality, software, BIOS, Longevity, etc. I also would like to know which board I should go with or if anyone has any recommendations? Thanks

Aorus vs. Gigabyte is sort of like Asus ROG vs. Asus TUF: one is marketed as a more 'premium' brand, while the other is marketed as a more 'budget' brand. In reality, the difference varies wildly product-to-product, and there usually isn't a clear reason to go with one or the other. Just go with the motherboard which has the features that you need, at the most reasonable price. There's not going to be a huge difference in build quality between the two (although the Aorus one might have more fancy lights).

Main PC:

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X • Noctua NH-D15 • MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk • 2x8GB G.skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz CL16 • MSI VENTUS 3X GeForce RTX 3070 OC • Samsung 970 Evo 1TB • Samsung 860 Evo 1TB • Cosair iCUE 465X RGB • Corsair RMx 750W (White)

Peripherals/Other:

ASUS VG27AQ • G PRO K/DA • G502 Hero K/DA • G733 K/DA • G840 K/DA • Oculus Quest 2 • Nintendo Switch (Rev. 2)

Laptop (Dell XPS 13):

Intel Core i7-1195G7 • Intel Iris Xe Graphics • 16GB LPDDR4x 4267MHz • 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD • 13.4" OLED 3.5K InfinityEdge Display (3456x2160, 400nit, touch).

Got any questions about my system or peripherals? Feel free to tag me (@bellabichon) and I'll be happy to give you my two cents.

PSA: Posting a PCPartPicker list with no explanation isn't helpful for first-time builders :)

Techincally the b550 aorus master is better, though i wouldn't go with either one of them, the vision D is overpriced for what it offers and the master is a 300 dollar b550 board.

Budget for a board? location and currency? and what are you powering?

PC: Motherboard: ASUS B550M TUF-Plus, CPU: Ryzen 3 3100, CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34, GPU: GIGABYTE WindForce GTX1650S, RAM: HyperX Fury RGB 2x8GB 3200 CL16, Case, CoolerMaster MB311L ARGB, Boot Drive: 250GB MX500, Game Drive: WD Blue 1TB 7200RPM HDD.

Peripherals: GK61 (Optical Gateron Red) with Mistel White/Orange keycaps, Logitech G102 (Purple), BitWit Ensemble Grey Deskpad.

Audio: Logitech G432, Moondrop Starfield, Mic: Razer Siren Mini (White).

Phone: Pixel 3a (Purple-ish).

I'm in the US. $300 dollars is the max. I'm powering a R7 3800x with a RX 5700 XT with 32gb ram at 3600mhz. Looking to upgrade to Ryzen 5000 probably a 5700x or 5900x and Big Navi when they come out

(EDIT: I honestly don't care if its B550 OR X570, I'm looking for the best mobo that dont cost alot but has the features to support the components I have now and will support future components if and when I decide to upgrade)

All of these boards are quite good and will easily handle even the 16 core or the x570 tomahawk if you can find one, if you want a white board, the b550 strix A is quite good.
