what will happen if i switch off the power to the pc from the power socket it self, like the the socket which i connect my power supply cable to. does this damage my motherboard or bios in anyway?

No but it is not recommended as repetitive loss of power to the psu could cause capacitor damage on the PSU.

Also it would cause loss of data if the system is on and you did not save some work.
