Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Minecraft, OBS Studio, Reason 11, some Fortnite, to name a few

Other details Current rig: Lenovo ThinkPad E540 (yea, I know).

Planned rig (be gentle...I'm very out of touch with PC builds):

MSI AMD X470

AMD Ryzen 5 3400G

Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 16GB (will probably up that to 32GB because why not?)

MUSETEX Phantom Black ATX Mid-Tower Chassis

ARESGAME Power Supply 650W

 

I feel like such a n00b - I haven't been into building in so long I've lost touch with what's out there. Not aiming for a high-end rig, but something that's got a good kick and can keep up with modest gaming/streaming and music software and will be upgradeable so it'll last me a while. Like I said above, I currently have a Lenovo E540 I got back in 2014 and I've managed to keep it going pretty well thus far. I'm not too willing to drop a month's worth of rent on a pre-built system, but I'm skeptical at what I've got so far.

 

I haven't landed on a graphics card yet - leaning towards Geforce, so if you have any suggestions for something mid-range, that would be awesome.
