trouble with RT-AC3200

HI All,

i am having a problem with the asus RT-AC3200 router wherein there is a signal drop.

the router is 26 feet away from the laptop and there is just one wall. i have tried using multiple laptops but the result is the same

On 2.4GHz or 5GHz? And by "drop", how much speed so you lose compared to what you're paying for from your ISP?

Hi falcon,

we are usingf 2.4 ghz the wall is made of concrete. we have an optic fiber connection {100 MBPS}. we are getting only 15 mbps. the same network connection is used for the entire hospital we are running lan cables to the first and second floor.

Well, there are your problems!

1. 2.4GHz has good range, but it's susceptible to interference from other 2.4GHz networks and devices that utilize RF in this region (e.g. cordless phones, microwave ovens, Bluetooth, etc.). Furthermore, if the wireless router/AP doesn't even support 802.11n then it's unlikely to even reach 54Mbps, which is not providing you with full use of your internet connection. I'd suggest you upgrade to something that at least supports WiFi 5.
2. Concrete will significantly reduce WiFi range, and it gets worse the higher the frequency spectrum you go. I'd suggest you wire in another access point in the areas of poor signal.
