Disc Image size problem

The Great Kamek

Once I mounted a disc image, somehow it takes up roughly 30GB on my storage, and the game is only 8GB. Anyone tell me what happened there?

Compression of the files. For example, installing windows 10 from a usb drive is only 4gb on the drive, but will expand to 20gb once fully installed

Is there any way to unload those extra GB? or is it linked with the game folder

It's all linked together. You can't just remove any amount of files from the game. They are critical to the game.

Did I have the choice to unload the game on secondary drive?

If you go to This PC, you will see the game install loaded as a dvd drive, this is just the way windows mounts ISOs. Right click on it and click dismount.

Yes eject. It will just unmount the game install.

originally on Local disk, but I figure moving the game folder to another drive would be fine, yes?

It probably only copied it to the other drive, go to the original location of the game and see if its still there. When you move to anogjer drive it will only copy unless you specifically ask it too cut.
