Laptop Performance Decrease After Removing Battery

Recently my laptop battery had become swollen and I decided to remove it as a safety precaution. As a result, I am currently using my laptop on AC power without a battery while waiting for a new battery I ordered for who knows how long. The issue I am having is, I realized that after removing the battery my system has been getting about a 30 frame drop in many of the games i am playing. At the same time, my temperatures of my CPU have also dropped from about 94 Celsius to a consistent 85 now. I have made sure that all my settings are on High Performance mode and that my power settings aren't limiting the power of my machine. Is it intended that without a battery my machine is limiting its performance, or is something wrong with my laptop?

a high performance profile on your hardware might draw power from the battery rather than the ac plug , so without the battery the machine might literally not have enough power

no need to run any diagnostics until the machine is put back together so wait for your battery to be installed before testing
