Asus rog Scar II (GL504GS) changing the thermal paste

Go to solution Solved by Xaring,

If they use thermal paste, it means the tolerance between the VRMs and the cooling heat plate are small and is designed to be used with thermal paste. You normally only use thermal pads where the gap is too big for the thermal paste to actually work as intended.

Hello there, was thinking about repasting this laptop but I noticed they use a thermal paste for the VRMs? So was wondering, can I just use the mx-4 for the VRMs as well? Would that be ok or should I use a thermal pad instead?

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

If they already use thermal paste for VRM's then the mx-4 would be fine.

I will recommend an NHu12s (or an NHd15 (maybe)) for your PC build. Quote or @ me @Prodigy_Smit for me to see your replies.

I see thanks for that info mate. Guess the good thing is I don't need to buy thermal pad.
