Hey guys!

I'm relatively new to the PC gaming scene. I recently built my first gaming PC and I'm having trouble. I bought a pair of Ripjaws DDR4 RAM sticks rated at 3200MHz. My system automatically sets them at 2133 MHz, so I changed it in the BIOS. I upped the voltage from 1.200 to 1.300, and since I was on the BIOS I set the fans on Performance Mode. All good, but after I shut down the system and turn it on again, the BIOS is back to how it was before I changed it. The weirdest part is that when i restart, it's all fine. Can someone help me out?

I'm running an AsRock B450M HDV R.4 mobo and a Ryzen 5 3600XT CPU. Thanks a lot!

enable XMP. It will set everything to where it needs to be and "SHOULD" work.

veru poor combo. that motherboard wont handle that cpu fine. if you like to  do anything that idle change the motherboard.

motherboard tier list:

your mobo is on tier F meaning that it will be cabable of runnin r3 1200/2200g. for your cpu you sohudl look at tier D. tier E is just enoguh to run your cpu. but i would get tier D or C if wanted to run 8+ core cpus in the future

Yeah, I feared it was something like this. I'll eventually change the mobo then, I'm eyeing the Gigabyte B550 Gaming X, since my case supports ATX motherboards as well. Thank you!

Yeah, I did. I see the Gigabyte B550 Gaming in the D tier list. Is there a difference between the regular and the X variant? The country where I live doesn't offer a lot of options lol

it is on tier C. decent. will run well with 3600XT.

i would get something from tier B since it can run even the new ryzen 5900xt (new 12 core ryzen)

like msi b550 a-pro.

That looks like a good shop for me. I've been eyeing this site http://extremetechcr.com/tienda/, since its the most convenient location-wise. It's only in Spanish, I hope that's not an issue haha.

Thank you for your help, btw!

As low as possible haha.

I don't have a budget right now, I'm just looking to what is ideal so I can adjust money for a future upgrade. I'd say around $200 is the most I can afford, but I can stretch it a bit upward.

it is over your budget but that is Tier A mtoherboard. will even run 3950x or the new 5950x (both 16 core, 32 thread, that is 2.5X your cores)

And at the same price? I think I'll definetly go for this one, better future proofing with that PCIe 4.0. I can definetly adjust my budget a little, it's not that much over. Thank you very much for your help!

yes hte x570-P is decent overall.

but the b550 tuf has better:

audio (7.1, the x570-P only has 5.1 surround)

2.5gig internet (x570 one has 1gb)

better inside conenctions (more ports)

x570 has better:

pcie 4.0 slots

more rear connections.

Hey guys! In case you're having the same issues as me, I recently found out the issue was a PSU one. I had a Corsair CV 450 and upgraded to a RX 850, and I no longer have the issues I was having withoput the need to upgrade my mobo. But thanks to everyone for the help!
