Not sure if this is the right sub-forum or if this even the type of subject that is covered on the LTT forum much, Anyways

I bought a new remote for my Nvidia Shield because I lost my original remote, this one won't auto connect and to do it manually you need access to the interface on the screen.  Can I remote desktop into it or is there another way to access the shield without an accessory?

Audio go Brrrrrr

is it the Shield TV or Shield Tablet?

if it's the TV you can use a keyboard and mouse through the USB connectors on the back

it's the shield TV, tyvm for that information.  I went and bought a basic roku yesterday just to listen to music lol.  Oh well not a complete loss, I'll give the roku to my dad

What Shield TV do you have? 2015, 2017, 2019? Is it the pro, or standard version?

I have both a 2019 pro and a 2017 pro, and it works with both the slim remote and the new "Toblerone" style triangular remote.. you might need to temporarily connect a USB mouse to the unit so you can navigate the menu and place the Shield into search mode so it can find the remote.. I believe that's what I did when I bought my new one for my 2017..

It turned out that it needed an update then the remote worked
